Would you change if you could?

A couple years ago I had a conversation with my oldest son who is autistic. He told me that if there was a button, he could push to make him not have autism that he would NOT push it. I was impressed by his insightfulness and touched by his understanding. As I reflect on my life, I would say the exact same thing about being trans. There was a time when I would have pushed the button but thankfully, I didn’t get the chance because I love who I am becoming. Our experiences and trials are given to us for a reason and make us who we are. Be proud of who you are and whatever you may be facing, please know that I will meet you there without judgement and we will grow together.
